My Monthly Review - September 2022
I have been publicly sharing my monthly business reviews since January 2022 (scroll to the bottom of this post to see my others).
This is a reset process I go through on the first of every month to review the month that has just been and to plan for the month ahead.
I highly encourage all of my clients and students to do a similar process each month as it helps keep you accountable and see what is working and isn’t working in your business.
If you want a free checklist to use you can grab that here:
If you aren’t regularly tracking what is happening in your business then it’s very difficult to assess what’s working, what isn’t working, what progress you are making (or not making!) and how you can improve.
My review process normally takes me about 20 minutes to complete each month and when I look back on my previous entries I’m so grateful that I have a record of what has been happening so I can look back on how far I have come!
A quick note before we start…
I share this information publicly because I’m a completely open book and want to encourage and inspire other women and mothers about what is possible with their businesses.
When I was starting my ow business I used to follow a few business owners who did something similar to this and I found it hugely inspiring and helpful as it showed me what was possible in my own business.
However, I’m aware that some people find the sharing of business results and revenue numbers triggering, so if that’s you then I suggest you skip this post and jump in to some of my other free content instead :)
Here’s my review from September 2022.

Notes from Last Month
What went well, what didn’t go well…
Has been very unproductive this month and barely completed any of the tasks I set myself. Every day I moved things off my to-do list and over to the following day. This makes me question whether the tasks I had set myself were actually that important and I’ve been trying to work out why I don’t want to do them. But I think it’s really that I have still been recovering from my brain surgery and needed a bit more time to sleep and not work too hard. It’s taking a lot of patience to recover from this surgery!
Despite my lack of work my business hasn’t suffered from the break luckily, with another solid month of revenue. I continue to be so grateful for this amazing business model and it still just constantly surprises me.
Revenue has been slowly climbing now Online Course Creator has launched. That course did solid revenue this month of over $40,000 which is great progress for a brand new course. My aim is still to get that course to another million dollar product by the time it’s been around for a year (which isn’t until July of next years). More importantly, students in the course are now starting to email me and post in the FB group about their courses launching and the success they are having with the program - so that’s the most rewarding part of it for me. Can’t wait to see others change their lives with their online courses as well :)
We’ve hit Q4 so I now need to really get stuck into finishing the year off strong with the plans I have for what needs to be achieved.
Here’s my plan for the rest of 2022:
✅ Create more + better free content for my community - my consistency with this has dropped off a bit lately
✅ Create my next course (about taking an online course evergreen) - launching Black Friday weekend
✅ Get back to creating on YouTube - I keep saying this and never do it, so October is the month!
✅ Update my business short course platform for designers to make it THE best place for business education for designers + architects. Create a webinar for these courses.
✅ Get back to peak fitness after my brain surgery
Many of these tasks were meant to be done last month but I’ll now have to get going with those in October and Q4. I also need to get stuck into creating the next course - Part 2 of Online Course Creator (which is all about taking your online course Evergreen). This will be launching over the Black Friday weekend so that’s at the end of November. The project plan has been mapped out for how to achieve that but I also now have other one off tasks that need to be done on top of that, so that will require hard work for the next few months.
We are going on holidays to Brisbane and Noosa today. My plan is to enjoy those and not really do any work and take a proper break from everything. Although I didn’t work much over the past few months I have felt the mental guilt of not doing much, so while we are away my plan is to take a purposeful break and not feel the guilt of it and then come back refreshed and get stuck into what needs to be done once the boys are back at school next week.
With my health and fitness this has been a win this month. I have got back to strength training and have been walking every day and running some days as well. As I’m still only a few months post brain surgery I think this is pretty good progress. My strength training was dreadful for the first few weeks but over past few days I have felt some of my strength starting to come back. I’m also 12 days into a program called 75 Hard, which will finish on 4 December. My aim with that is to get back to peak fitness by that point and start to feel like my old self as I feel pretty gross at the moment from the long period of no exercise and some poor eating habits that crept in while I was unwell.
Looking forward - plan this month
Focus this month:
October needs to be a head down month. I’m going to get all the residual tasks I’ve had on my list for a few months done and get a good portion of the new course created as well, as per the project plan I’ve set myself. I am also going to get really serious about getting back to my prior levels of fitness now that I am feeling much better.
Projects this month:
Online Course Creator: Go Evergreen tasks - as per project plan
Notion templates + YouTube videos to accompany
Create lead magnets for CLR/OCC and share
Weekly posting to YouTube channels (x 2)
Create business short course webinar and share
Goals this month:
1: ♠️ 75 Hard - Ends 3 December
2: $150K revenue
What would make this month amazing?
Get back to being more productive and achieving what I set out to do. Have been very slack lately!
