My Monthly Review - July 2022
I have been publicly sharing my monthly business reviews since January 2022 (scroll to the bottom of this post to see my others).
This is a reset process I go through on the first of every month to review the month that has just been and to plan for the month ahead.
I highly encourage all of my clients and students to do a similar process each month as it helps keep you accountable and see what is working and isn’t working in your business.
If you want a free checklist to use you can grab that here:
If you aren’t regularly tracking what is happening in your business then it’s very difficult to assess what’s working, what isn’t working, what progress you are making (or not making!) and how you can improve.
My review process normally takes me about 20 minutes to complete each month and when I look back on my previous entries I’m so grateful that I have a record of what has been happening so I can look back on how far I have come!
A quick note before we start…
I share this information publicly because I’m a completely open book and want to encourage and inspire other women and mothers about what is possible with their businesses.
When I was starting my ow business I used to follow a few business owners who did something similar to this and I found it hugely inspiring and helpful as it showed me what was possible in my own business.
However, I’m aware that some people find the sharing of business results and revenue numbers triggering, so if that’s you then I suggest you skip this post and jump in to some of my other free content instead :)
Here’s my review from July 2022.

Notes from Last Month
What went well, what didn’t go well…
July has been an absolutely massive month and I completed all projects I set myself and all goals I set.
I spent the first half of the month getting my new program - Online Course Creator - finished off and launched, which was one of the hardest work tasks I’ve ever done. I worked 15 hour days for many weeks and launched the course on the 18th July. I am really proud of what I created and feedback so far has been fantastic, which always makes the hard work feel worth it.
And then on the 26th July I had a craniotomy (i.e. full on brain surgery) that has really knocked me about. I’m writing this post from my hospital bed nearly a week after the operation and I still feel pretty rubbish. It’s definitely been much, much worse than I was expecting and my recovery period from the operation is going to be a lot longer than I was expecting as well. I am going to have to be very patient with it - which I’m not very good at! I’ve found out today I need an iron infusion so they are hoping that might make me feel a bit better.
After such a tough July I want to take August to rest and recover and not put too much pressure on myself.
In terms of hitting my goals for last month - they all got smashed, despite the fact I also had to have major surgery - so I’m pretty happy with that. My revenue goal was $150K for the month and I hit $200K (well $199K which was a little bit annoying!). I hoped for 100 pre-launch enrolments in my new program Online Course Creator and I got over 150 and I got my course finished and launched on the 18th July, which is exactly when I wanted to launch it. So I’m thrilled about all of that.
I also can’t help but be so happy that I have a business that has just continued to make money while I’ve been lying in my hospital bed for a week. It was nearly 5 days before I could really do anything much in the business and everything just ticked over just fine without me, which is so fantastic and I continue to be so grateful about the business model that I have.
There’s been some great feedback from students in my new program already, which I’m thrilled about. People already making lots of progress and giving me great feedback on the content of the course. This is exactly what you hope for when you create a course - so I’m so happy about that as well!
The most incredible thing about July, however, is the fact that I lived through my operation and that all my arms and legs work and I didn’t have a stroke - i.e. as hideous as my recovery is going - there’s so much upside and my surgical team have done an absolutely amazing job.
Still one more brain operation to go later on this year - another pretty serious one, but I have to get over this one first before we can get to that. After that I hope my year of horrendous brain operations will be over for the moment.
Looking forward - plan this month
Focus this month:
My main focus for this month is rest and recovery without putting major work stress on myself. I’ve got a few minor projects I want to get done but nothing major.
Projects this month:
☐ Launch webinar and evergreen sales funnel for OCC
☐ Set project plan and timeline for OCC - Evergreen course
☐ Create FB ads for OCC
☐ New FB ads for SketchUp courses
☐ Daily blog posts
☐ Daily IG posts on CLR and TLDC
Goals this month:
☐ Recover from operation without the stress of any major projects on my plate
☐ $150K revenue
What would make this month amazing?
Recover from my operation and feel back to my old self. I think that’s going to take longer than I originally expected so need to be patient with this and not put too much pressure on myself for this month.
