My Monthly Review - February 2023
I have been publicly sharing my monthly business reviews since January 2022 (scroll to the bottom of this post to see my others).
This is a reset process I go through on the first of every month to review the month that has just been and to plan for the month ahead.
I highly encourage all of my clients and students to do a similar process each month as it helps keep you accountable and see what is working and isn’t working in your business.
If you want a free checklist to use you can grab that here:
If you aren’t regularly tracking what is happening in your business then it’s very difficult to assess what’s working, what isn’t working, what progress you are making (or not making!) and how you can improve.
My review process normally takes me about 20 minutes to complete each month and when I look back on my previous entries I’m so grateful that I have a record of what has been happening so I can look back on how far I have come!
A quick note before we start…
I share this information publicly because I’m a completely open book and want to encourage and inspire other women and mothers about what is possible with their businesses.
When I was starting my ow business I used to follow a few business owners who did something similar to this and I found it hugely inspiring and helpful as it showed me what was possible in my own business.
However, I’m aware that some people find the sharing of business results and revenue numbers triggering, so if that’s you then I suggest you skip this post and jump in to some of my other free content instead :)
Here’s my review from February 2023.

Notes from Last Month
What went well, what didn’t go well…
On 21 February I had my second craniotomy (i.e. invasive brain surgery) so the only thing I really have to report for this month is that I’m happy to be alive and sitting here typing this as I had no idea how the surgery would go or what my recovery would be like.
But this time around (my last brain surgery was in July 2022) I am feeling SO much better during my recovery. I only ended up spending 2 days in the hospital - one night on ICU and one night in a ward, and then I begged my surgeon to let me go home, which he agreed to.
And since I’ve been home I’ve been resting as much as I need but also able to get back on with life - including going for my first walk (4.1km) within 6 days, which I think is pretty remarkable.
So I’m so relieved and I’m also so excited because I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a holding pattern with my work over the last few months. I haven’t wanted to start any new projects as I wanted to get through my surgery first and see how I felt.
But now I’m feeling so good I’m so excited about getting stuck into lots of things I’ve had in the back of my mind for ages. 🥳
Here’s a bit of a summary of what else happened in February:
I got about 6 weeks of content scheduled in advance of my surgery, which is giving me lots of time to think about other projects and get started with those
An influencer (Bec Judd) shared my SketchUp course during February and my IG account grew by 1000 followers overnight
Students in my Online Course Creator program went through a 6 week course launch period - lots of live Q&As and interactions which I always think I don’t enjoy (because I rebel from having anything in my diary!) but then really enjoy when I’m doing them - some great courses have been launched off the back of that period of intense effort by students 👏🏻
Our house has been knocked down, ready to start our new build (so excited about that - but having to be very patient as it’s a slow process!)
Despite being off work for a good portion of the month I still hit my revenue goal of $150K
So overall it’s been a fantastic month and I’m feeling really excited about the rest of 2023 😁
Looking forward - plan this month
Focus this month:
My focus this month is to continue to recover from my brain surgery 🧠
If I get any work done that’s a bonus, but I’ve scheduled so much in advance that I’m not giving myself any pressure on what “must” get done this month.
I do have a few projects that I’m excited to start working on though - including a brand and website overhaul!
Goals this month:
$150K in revenue
What would make this month amazing?
To feel better and be ready to get back into things properly in April 😁
