I ran an interior design studio for six years and then built a business teaching other design and build professionals how to run theirs.
I started The Little Design Corner in 2014 as a blog, while I was still working in change management in the medical education sector (I also have a PhD in business). Within months readers were hiring me for design work and within a year I had left my corporate job behind.
I ran my studio the way I'd learned to run things in the corporate world i.e. with proper systems, proper pricing and client experience at the forefront of everything I did.
Eventually I was fully booked, my revenue was capped and I had a decision to make. Scale the traditional way with staff and overhead or find another path? I wanted flexibility over my time so I went back to what I'd done in my corporate role, which was building education programs.
My first course, SketchUp for Interior Design, took off immediately. It turned out there was a huge gap between what design school teaches and what it takes to run a studio and that's the gap TLDC fills.
My husband Paul also left his corporate career to join me a few years ago and together we've built TLDC into an 8-figure professional development business that's trained more than 52,000 design and build professionals worldwide.
Every course, template and system I sell came out of a real studio solving real problems. That's why they work :)
(If you're interested you can read more about my story HERE).

Make sure to also connect with me on Instagram! I manage my account myself and answer all DMs personally, so reach out to ask a question or just say hi! :)
My interior design work has been featured in a number of leading design magazines and publications including EST. living, Real Living, Adore Magazine, Homes+ and the HomesToLove website.
But these days, due to my commitment to my education business, I no longer work with interior design clients.
