If I had to start my 7-figure a year business over again, here are the steps I would take:
-
pick a topic I can talk about unprepared for 30 minutes or more
-
pick a social platform I enjoy spending time on (and where my ideal clients hang out)
-
start posting at least once per day to that platform (talking only about the topic I’ve chosen)
-
learn how to say the same thing in multiple different ways (makes content creation easier)
-
proactively start to reach out to people I think I could help (but they will most likely start to come to me if my content is good enough)
-
offer to work for free (for a couple of first clients)
-
collect stories/testimonials of the results I’ve given these free clients
-
post those stories to my website and social media
-
ask them to refer me to others who may need help
-
improve my client experience from what I’ve learned from the free clients
-
start getting paying clients and work 1:1
-
work with more clients until I intrinsically understand their needs and problems
-
scale my business online by productising my 1:1 solutions and selling them 1 to many (instead of 1 to 1)
By doing this I would:
-
build multiple lead generation channels (social media and referrals)
-
build a portfolio of content that establishes me as an expert
-
learn what people need by taking action and getting to know them better
-
start making money as quickly as possible
Overthinking is where 99% of people get stuck.
Instead of overthinking - aim for imperfect, daily action and learn as you go.
You’ll make much more progress getting it 67% right in real life than you will getting it 99% right in your head.
Thanks for reading and catch you in my next post :)
